Citizens Hires Lynx Services to Negotiate Water Damage Mitigation Invoices

Citizens Property Insurance Corporation has reached a $1,800,000 deal with Lynx Services, LLC for Lynx to examine invoices from water damage restoration/mitigation vendors used by Citizens policyholders in Florida following events causing water damage.  Lynx is to review the invoices and negotiate directly with the vendors.  The goal is to reduce Citizens' expenses related to water damage restoration reimbursement.  Lynx gets paid in part on the difference between a contractor's original estimate and the savings Lynx negotiates. That raises the question as to whether this will entice Lynx to challenge the contractor's invoice, even if the amoint being charged is reasonable.  Certainly, the financial arrangement raises an appearance of bias.  Whether, this program will help end disagreements between contractors and Citizens or cause more disagreements is yet to be seened.  Stay tuned.
