Florida statute 627.409 basically allows an insurance company to deny your insurance claim if it can prove that you made a material misrepresentation on your application for insurance. In other words, if there's some information you provided on the application for insurance that wasn't truthful, or wasn't correct and was material to the insurance company's acceptance of the risk, and what that means is, had the insurance company had the correct information, they would have either not insured you, or they would have charged a higher premium. If they can prove that, they can deny your claim.
