If your insurance company is demanding that you provide a recorded statement to them, then the typical answer is yes, you have an obligation to cooperate with
them under your policy. A recorded statement is when the insurance company calls you and typically tells you, "We want to ask you some questions and we're going to record the conversation. Do we have your permission to do that?" If you have a policy with them, that policy will typically have a duty to cooperate provision and you will have to provide that recorded statement to them if you want to pursue your claim.  Please take the time to prepare for the recorded statement in advance and consult with an insurance claims lawyer before providing the recorded statement to the insurance company.
