Heritage Insurance Company has quadrupled the pay of its CEO to $27.3 million. That's 50 times more than what Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, a larger insurance company, pays its CEO. To boot, Heritage has asked Florida to approve a premium rate increase then withdrew the request when the media pounded on the story. According to Heritage it had a record year in 2015 in terms of growth, there have been no hurricanes in the interim, and it can afford to pay its CEO $27.3 million, yet a premium rate increase of 14.9% is needed?
