Meet J.P. Gonzalez-Sirgo

Experienced Florida Trial Lawyer Representing Individuals in Catastrophic Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death, Life Insurance Claims, and Real Estate Deposit Disputes

Choosing the right lawyer can make all the difference.

For more than 30 years, J.P. Gonzalez-Sirgo has represented individuals and families facing some of life's most difficult challenges—from catastrophic personal injury, medical negligence and wrongful death to denied high-value life insurance claims and Florida real estate deposit disputes.

Unlike high-volume law firms, J.P. intentionally accepts only a limited number of significant cases at any given time. That allows every client to receive the personal attention, strategic planning, and direct attorney involvement their case deserves.

When you hire J.P., you work directly with him throughout your case—not an inexperienced associate or case manager.

Trial Experience That Makes a Difference

Since becoming a member of The Florida Bar in 1994, J.P. has represented clients throughout Florida in complex litigation and has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases to verdict.

Before becoming an attorney, he worked as an insurance claims adjuster handling hundreds of insurance claims. That firsthand experience gave him valuable insight into how insurance companies investigate, evaluate, and defend claims—knowledge that continues to benefit his clients today.

Having seen the claims process from both sides, he understands how insurers think and uses that experience to help clients navigate difficult disputes.

My Story

J.P. was born and raised in Miami and Hialeah as the oldest of four brothers. The son of Cuban immigrant parents who owned a small business, he learned the importance of integrity, perseverance, and hard work from an early age.

After graduating from Hialeah High School, he attended Miami-Dade Community College before earning an Honors degree in Political Science from Florida International University.

Throughout college, J.P. worked while carrying a full academic schedule. At FIU, he served as Sports Editor of The Sunblazer newspaper and was an active member of the Pre-Law Society.

He later attended Vanderbilt University School of Law on a partial scholarship, supporting himself by working throughout law school as a Vanderbilt Reeve before graduating in 1994.

After beginning his career at a prominent Miami law firm, J.P. founded his own practice with a simple mission that remains unchanged today:

To represent individuals—not powerful corporations, insurance companies, hospitals, or developers.

More than three decades later, that mission continues to define every case he accepts.
